Location: Burlington, NC or Durham, NC

This hybrid position offers a balanced schedule of a minimum of three in-office days at an assigned location to be either Burlington or Durham, NC, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.

We are seeking a highly skilled Network DevOps Engineer with a strong background in both network engineering and software development. The ideal candidate will design, automate, and optimize our network and infrastructure services, enabling speed, reliability, and scalability across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Engineering
    • Design, implement, and support Arista spine-leaf data center networks using BGP EVPN and VXLAN overlays.
    • Configure and maintain technologies such as F5 and Citrix Netscaler to support application delivery and high availability.
    • Manage and optimize Infoblox DDI solutions (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) to ensure robust network services.
  • Automation & DevOps
    • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Ansible to manage large-scale network deployments.
    • Create reusable playbooks, roles, and modules to enforce network standards and enable zero-touch provisioning.
    • Integrate automation pipelines into CI/CD workflows for repeatable and consistent network changes.
    • Collaborate with software developers, cloud, and system engineers to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Operations & Support
    • Troubleshoot complex issues across the network, load balancers, and DDI services.
    • Monitor performance, capacity, and reliability of network infrastructure.
    • Document network designs, automation frameworks, and operational processes.
    • Participate in production support incidents and issues related to services covered as needed including an on call rotation.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong expertise in Layer 2/3 networking, BGP, EVPN, and VXLAN.
  • Hands-on experience with Arista EOS in large-scale data centers.
  • Proficiency with F5 BIG-IP and Citrix Netscaler load balancers.
  • Solid understanding of Infoblox DDI (DNS/DHCP/IPAM).
  • Proven experience managing infrastructure with Ansible (playbooks, roles, collections, AVD preferred).
  • Strong programming/scripting skills in Python, YAML, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD tools, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Ability to work across teams, communicate effectively, and mentor others.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Knowledge of container networking (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Exposure to monitoring/observability tools (DataDog, LogicMonitor, ExtraHop, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Contributions to open-source network automation projects a plus.
