Cyber Security Engineer

Permanent Position

Charlotte, NC Hybrid

The Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of securing the various information systems. This role will be tasked with designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions.

This role will take part in a new Cyber Security road map and offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on knowledge in the field of cybersecurity.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain security solutions to protect the organization's systems and networks from cyber threats.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Design and implement security controls, configurations, and best practices across all technology platforms.
  • Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security requirements into the development lifecycle of new applications and systems.
  • Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to proactively address potential risks.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on security-related matters, including incident response and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, email security, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection, SIEM, and vulnerability management.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks, such as ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and PCI.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, are a plus.
