Role: Terraform/Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer

Work Setup: Onsite to start, with potential hybrid or remote flexibility after training

This position was created to support an expanding team within the Department of Finance and Administration’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) group. The team is growing to meet new project demands and modernize the State’s infrastructure using Google Cloud and Terraform.
Top Requirements:
  • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform (HCL) and Google Cloud Platform architecture
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform networking, IAM, monitoring, and logging
  • Experience integrating Terraform with CI/CD and GitOps workflows
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash for automation and scripting
  • Understanding of state management, secrets handling, and cloud security best practices
  • Seven to nine years of related experience in infrastructure or cloud environments
Responsibilities:
The engineer will design and automate the cloud and data center infrastructure that supports enterprise systems. Day-to-day work will include:
  • Architecting and deploying scalable environments in Google Cloud Platform using Terraform
  • Managing infrastructure as code to improve performance, governance, and cost control
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Working closely with network and security teams on IAM, monitoring, and compliance
  • Writing clear documentation and implementation plans
  • Supporting modernization and migration initiatives across departments
Qualifications:
  • 7–9 years in infrastructure, cloud, or data engineering
  • Deep knowledge of Terraform (HCL) and Google Cloud Platform services
  • Solid grasp of networking, firewalls, backup systems, and database technologies (SQL, Oracle)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Prior experience working on enterprise or public-sector projects is a plus
