Senior Drupal Web Developer

UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking an experienced, Senior Drupal Web Developer for a hybrid role (50% within the bi-weekly pay period). Candidates local to the Albany, NY area or New York, NY area preferred. The right candidate will come with over five years of expertise in designing, developing, and delivering enterprise-grade Drupal websites. The selected consultant will ensure that all Drupal solutions are usable, functionally accessible, responsively designed, and fully compliant with NYS standards and industry best practices. The role requires advanced proficiency in Drupal theming, custom module development, backend/frontend programming, and modern web technologies, with the ability to support critical releases and emergency upgrades in a secure enterprise environment.

*This role may require occasional early mornings or late nights for release coordination and/or emergency upgrades (ie: critical security releases.)

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• 57+ years of experience as a Senior Drupal Developer.

• Minimum of 64+ months in custom Drupal development (custom modules, features, and themes).
• Minimum of 48+ months of experience using Acquia, SOLR/SearchStax.
• Minimum of 48+ months of experience with Drupal contributed/custom modules (CTools, Views, Panels, etc.) and extending them.
• 64+ months of programming with HTML5, CSS3, and SASS.
• 64+ months of programming with PHP.
• 64+ months of programming with JavaScript and JQuery.
• 48+ months of experience using Git.
• 64+ months of experience performing web graphical, browser, and cross-platform compatibility testing and creating sites with responsive design.
• Strong ability to adhere to enterprise policies, coordinate early morning/late night release schedules, and support critical security upgrades.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

• Ensure that all developed Drupal websites are usable, functionally accessible, responsively designed, and compliant with NYS standards and best practices.
• Leverage an enterprise Drupal platform solution, applying industry best practices and current technologies to improve service delivery.
• Design and implement Drupal theming, custom functionality, and module development.
• Perform frontend and backend development, utilizing PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML/CSS, and Twig templating.
• Conduct testing for cross-platform/browser compatibility and ensure responsive, modern site design.
• Support enterprise release coordination, including occasional early morning/late night deployments and emergency upgrades for critical security releases.
• Adhere to NYS OITS requirements, including hybrid onsite/remote schedule (no more than 50% work from home within a pay period) and vacation restrictions unless pre-approved.
