Job Description Summary

As an SAP Basis Administrator, you will be responsible for leading all activities related to SAP Basis administration and coordinate all support activities for the SAP infrastructure. This role will be expected to leverage strong technical acumen to suggest new technologies, enhance existing technologies, and serve as the subject matter expert for the above areas. This role will work closely with digital technology application teams, security, architecture, and vendor teams to deliver on identified objectives of contemporizing the order to remittance business processes through a modern ERP footprint. These objectives will be critical in enabling the Edison Works business to scale its operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning, preparing, and installing SAP applications on company servers.
  • Responsible to create the server infrastructure and ensure that all technology workloads are balanced.
  • Configure and troubleshoot software logistics.
  • Resolve any performance or startup issues that appear due to installation.
  • Schedule, perform, and oversee backups and restorations of SAP file systems.
  • Responsible for managing and testing and disaster recovery and high availability solutions for SAP servers.
  • Responsible to setup and maintain STMS configuration.
  • Responsible to setup and manage printers in SAP.
  • Responsible to manage the ChaRM setup, create ChaRM cycles or any third-party tools that helps GE with change management.
  • Support all activities related release management pertaining to Basis activities, which includes moving transports to quality and production system, and documenting the changes in Service Now
  • Manage system refreshes, system copies and building new SAP systems from snapshots.
  • Monitor system performance and take necessary actions to address performance deteriorations.
  • Applying add-ons and support packages
  • System landscape configuration and operation

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years professional experience OR associate degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience OR High School diploma with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in SAP Basis administration, infrastructure management.
  • Due to the nature of the work being performed this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.

NOTE: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with the SAP ECC, HANA & Oracle db.
  • Understand concepts of setting and driving functional & technical direction
  • Understands ITIL framework and have leveraged the same in at least 1 prior project.
  • Strong analytical and strong problem-solving skills; and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions.
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm with the ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Have worked on a cross-functional team; is aware of business priorities and organizational dynamics.

  • Understanding of Supply Chain business processes
