Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with deep expertise in Arista EOS, IP media transport, and network automation to join a high-performance engineering team supporting one of the most advanced live broadcast and media production environments in the world. Based onsite in Bristol, CT, this role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in fast-paced, mission-critical settings and is passionate about building and automating scalable, low-latency infrastructure for real-time content delivery.
You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting Arista-based IP broadcast networks, integrating with real-time media standards such as SMPTE ST 2110, AES67, and PTP, while also driving automation initiatives using Python, CloudVision Portal (CVP), and modern DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:
Architecture & Design
- Design and implement spine-leaf data center topologies using Arista EOS and CloudVision Portal (CVP).
- Engineer IP-based media networks supporting SMPTE ST 2110 (uncompressed video over IP), AES67 (audio over IP), and Precision Time Protocol (PTP) for synchronization.
- Architect and optimize multicast routing (PIM-SM, IGMPv2/v3), VLAN segmentation, VXLAN overlays, and EVPN for scalable, high-performance media transport.
- Implement QoS policies, traffic shaping, and buffer tuning to ensure deterministic performance for live video/audio streams.
?? Automation & Operations
- Develop and maintain Python scripts and Ansible playbooks for automating network provisioning, configuration management, and compliance auditing.
- Leverage Arista eAPI, CVP APIs, and OpenConfig for programmatic control and telemetry.
- Integrate network automation into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Git, Jenkins, and Terraform.
- Monitor and manage network health using SNMP, sFlow, NetFlow, and streaming telemetry.
Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex issues across broadcast control rooms, data centers, and remote production sites.
- Use advanced diagnostic tools such as:
- Wireshark and Endace for packet-level analysis
- ThousandEyes and CA Spectrum for path visualization and fault isolation
- Splunk, NetMRI, and Ekahau for log analysis, configuration auditing, and wireless troubleshooting
- Collaborate with broadcast engineering teams to support live event workflows, redundant signal paths, and disaster recovery scenarios.
Leadership & Strategy
- Act as the Arista and IP media transport SME, advising on best practices and future-state architecture.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal training and documentation.
- Participate in vendor evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and technology roadmap planning.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise or broadcast network engineering with a focus on Arista EOS.
- Strong understanding of IP media transport standards:
- SMPTE ST 2110 (video, audio, ancillary data over IP)
- AES67 (interoperable audio over IP)
- IEEE 1588 PTP (clock synchronization)
- Advanced knowledge of:
- Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, PIM-SM
- Multicast technologies: IGMP snooping, SSM, ASM
- Layer 2/3 segmentation: VLANs, VXLAN, EVPN
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
- Hands-on experience with CloudVision Portal (CVP), eAPI, and automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with Infoblox DDI, F5 BIG-IP LTM/GTM, and Palo Alto NGFWs.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in live broadcast, sports production, or media technology environments.
- Familiarity with broadcast control systems such as:
- Evertz Magnum
- Lawo VSM
- Grass Valley Orbit
- Exposure to hybrid cloud networking (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute).
- Certifications such as:
- Arista ACE Level 2/3
- Cisco CCNP/CCIE
- JNCIP/JNCIE
- DevNet Associate/Professional
