Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Infrastructure Architect to join our growing technology team. This role involves researching, designing, planning, and implementing enterprise solutions encompassing network and software technologies, as well as supporting life safety systems critical to public operations. The ideal candidate brings a strong networking background, a problem-solving mindset, and a passion for building resilient, secure infrastructure in a mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, design, and deploy enterprise infrastructure solutions, including networking and supporting software technologies.
- Assess existing infrastructure and provide recommendations in line with product specifications and cybersecurity best practices.
- Configure hardware and software to meet operational needs.
- Provide Tier 1 and 2 support for network and software-related issues.
- Respond to and resolve break/fix requests related to networking resources.
- Design and implement network extensions and connectivity to campus networks.
- Assist with deployment and configuration of new or replacement network hardware and communications infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance and security, identifying faults and anomalies.
- Maintain detailed architecture documentation, change history, and inventory/maintenance records.
- Train team members and end-users on implemented solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve user connection issues.
- Collaborate with ITS Field Maintenance on communication systems deployment and support.
- Support efforts to enhance cybersecurity controls, participate in threat hunting, and incident response.
- Contribute to project planning and resource management in a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (required).
- 6 10 years of hands-on networking and systems administration experience.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Security+, etc.) are a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of DHCP, DNS, routers, firewalls, and general systems/network administration.
- Experience with technical support services and designing infrastructure solutions.
- Ability to manage medium complexity projects with minimal oversight.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with users of varying technical backgrounds.
- Experience documenting network architecture and maintaining technical records.
