Systems Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has an enterprise client seeking a Systems Engineer IV in Redmond, WA.

Summary:
Manufacturing systems engineering is responsible for delivering test software, test hardware and test frameworks that improve speed and quality of testing of satellite components. We are looking for an Operations Test Engineer who ensures the smooth and reliable operation of Kuiper Test Systems by providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements. They also contribute to the development and maintenance of infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks. A Test Operations Engineer, this role typically combines quality assurance, test automation, and operational support. The role often serves as a bridge between development, testing, and operations teams, requiring both technical expertise and strong collaborative abilities.

Primary Responsibilities:
Test Environment Management:
* Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot test environments
* Manage test infrastructure and tools
* Configure and maintain continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
* Handle test data management and database administration
* Understand and Troubleshoot Test Executive/NI Testst and Sequence Execution and ATE (Automated Test Equipment) Systems, preferably in satellite facility labs
* Work directly with Manufacturing Engineers (MEs) on test station issues
* Maintain and optimize test station network infrastructure
* Debug communication issues between test equipment and control systems
* Support production testing operations

Test Automation:
* Develop and maintain automated test frameworks
* Create and execute automated test scripts
* Implement performance testing solutions

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
* 7-9 years of experience in software testing or development
* Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
* Relevant certifications (ISTQB, AWS, etc.) are often preferred

Technical Skills:
* Programming knowledge (Python, Java, or similar languages)
* Understanding of testing frameworks and tools
* Database management skills
* Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
* Experience with version control systems (Git)
* Understanding of Linux/Unix systems
* Experience with automated test equipment
* Background in manufacturing or aerospace testing environments
* Knowledge of satellite systems (preferred)

Infrastructure Knowledge:
* Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
* Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
* Network protocols and configurations
* Security testing principles

Soft Skills:
* Problem-solving abilities

* Team collaboration
* Project management capabilities
* Documentation skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
