Senior Java Front End/UI Developer (Need Locals)

Title: Senior Java Front End/UI Developer

Duration: 12 Months (3 Years Extension)

Location: Austin, Texas 78754. The working position is Hybrid - On Site and Telework.

Position will be 3 days remote with 2 days (Mon & Tues) required to be onsite at the location listed above.

Program will only allow candidates who are LOCAL TO THE AUSTIN AREA ONLY (Within 50-mile radius).

Summary:

• Performs Front End/UI application development. enhancement. maintenance, and support for Social Services User Interface applications.
• Performs application development, enhancement, maintenance, and support for State Portal, Workflow Management, Eligibility Web Services, Family Violence Program, Enterprise Document Services, Enterprise Content Management, Document Center, Call Center Inquiry, and other Social Services applications.
• Develop, enhance and maintain existing and new web-based J2EE/Portal applications within HHSC s SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) platform using Agile methodologies.
• As a member of the team, participate in requirements analysis, high-level and detailed design, development, testing and deployment of new application components, as required.
• Work with other teams as necessary to accomplish goals.
• Create technical and design documentation, as required.
• Perform system analysis and problem resolution, as required.
• Analyze software for configuration & performance tuning opportunities, as required.
• Develop and maintain data and process models, as required.
• Employ contemporary testing methods to ensure applications function properly and without error.
• Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.
• Participate in program design, coding and test walk-through meetings to provide input regarding technical standards and customer requirements.
• Provide application support (defect repair, maintenance, and production operations support) for web-based Java applications in an SOA platform. Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, diagnosis and problem resolution. Analyze software for defects and performance tuning opportunities. Develop and test application code to resolve defects and improve application reliability and performance

Minimum Requirements:

• 8 Years of Required Hands-on experience in Front End/UI development, enhancing and maintaining enterprise-class applications using Angular and/or similar frameworks on theJ2EE application development platform.
• 8 Years of Required Hands-on experience participating in all phases of the SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle).
• 8 Years of Required Hands-on UI development experience implementing Authentication and Authorization, Caching strategies.
• 8 Years of Required Hands-on programming experience in following languages: HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, CSS3, Bootstrap, SASS, Angular, Typescript, JSON, XML, ES5/ES6, NPM, Maven and/or other UI frameworks/libraries.
• 8 Years of Required Demonstrable experience developing, optimizing, and maintaining an enterprise-level Front End/UI application including complete ownership of the front-end stack (JavaScript/HTML/CSS, Angular and/or other UI frameworks).
• 8 Years of Required Experience implementing Client-facing applications with responsive design and development.
• 8 Years of Required Experience implementing SPAs with JS or with libraries/frameworks like Angular.
• 8 Years of Required Experience in development of self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components.
• 8 Years of Required Strong understanding and experience of fundamental programming concepts of data structures, algorithms, performance, caching and scalability issues in the context of Web based UI applications.
• 8 Years of Required Experience in developing and testing application user interface for ADA/Accessibility Compliance.
• 8 Years of Required Experience in implementing best practices in the areas of application design, performance, scalability and maintainability.
• 8 Years of Required Experience in Test-driven development and test creation using frameworks such as Karma, Jasmine, Selenium

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 Years of Preferred Hands-on experience with Spring Boot Java Applications.
• 5 Years of Preferred Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server 8 or later.
• 5 Years of Preferred Hands-on experience with Agile Development Methodologies (preferably Scrum)
• 5 Years of Preferred Hands-on experience with web applications developed for Cloud platform
• 5 Years of Preferred Hands-on experience with CI/CD methodology
• 5 Years of Preferred Hands-on development experience for mobile and tablet platforms
