Job Details

Primary Responsibilities

Azure VM & Infrastructure Management:

  • Provision, configure, and manage Azure Virtual Machines, including sizing, availability sets, scaling, manage backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Maintain and optimize computing resources for performance, cost-efficiency, and compliance.

Data Services Administration:

  • Deploy and manage Azure data services such as Azure Synapse, Disks, Storage Accounts, ADF, Fabric and other Azure services.
  • Monitor usage, performance, and availability of data resources, and perform capacity planning.

Security & Compliance:

  • Configure and enforce security controls including NSGs, ASGs, Just-in-Time (JIT) access, and Azure Defender.
  • Manage identity and access using Azure AD, RBAC, and managed identities.

Monitoring & Operational Support:

  • Set up and manage monitoring solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and alert rules for proactive infrastructure health checks.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to VMs, storage, networking, and platform services.

Automation & Scripting:

  • Develop and maintain scripts in PowerShell or Azure CLI for automation of routine administrative tasks.
  • Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using ARM templates, Bicep

Collaboration & Process Adherence:

  • Work closely with application teams, security teams, and network engineers to support production and non-production environments.

Technical Skills Required

  • Strong experience in managing Azure Virtual Machines (Windows), Availability Sets, and Load balancers.
  • Solid understanding of Azure data solutions including SQL: ADLS, Storage account, Identity management,
  • Knowledge of Azure security features including NSGs, firewalls, encryption, Defender for Cloud, and Azure Policy.
  • Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and service health diagnostics.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting (or Azure CLI is a plus).
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, and hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute/VPN Gateway).
  • Exposure to IaC tools such as ARM templates, Bicep).
