Location: Remote: Must be in Southern California and may go to the office 1-2x per month. Also possible travel to Las Vegas 1x a quarter.

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior VMware/Nutanix Engineer with deep expertise in both VMware and Nutanix technologies to support, and optimize virtualized environments in enterprise settings. This role is critical for managing hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI), ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability across data center operations and cloud-integrated platforms.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, NSX, and vSAN as well as Nutanix AOS, Prism, and AHV. You will play a key role in infrastructure design, implementation, migration, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and maintain virtualized infrastructure using VMware and Nutanix platforms.
Administer VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi hosts, and related virtualization technologies.
Manage Nutanix clusters, AOS, AHV, Prism Central, and associated storage/network resources.
Plan and execute upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
Implement and manage high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
Collaborate with storage, networking, and security teams to align infrastructure solutions.
Provide documentation, automation, and scripting to improve operational efficiency.
Support infrastructure modernization initiatives including cloud integration and workload migration.

Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in virtualization engineering, with focus on VMware and Nutanix.
Proficiency in VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, NSX, and vSAN.
Strong experience with Nutanix AOS, Prism, AHV, and HCI infrastructure.
Familiarity with storage and networking principles in virtualized environments.
Scripting experience (e.g., PowerCLI, Bash, Python) is a plus.
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Industry certifications such as VCP, VCAP, or Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) preferred.

Preferred Skills:
Experience integrating VMware and Nutanix with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of monitoring and management tools (e.g., vRealize, Nutanix Prism Central).
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams.
Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to support and project delivery.
