Job Title: ATAS- Automation Developer Platform
Location: Frisco (TX)/ Overland Park (Kansas)
Duration: 12+ months

We are hiring an experienced Automation Developer Platform with strong knowledge of 5G applications and telco cloud environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for Day 1 onboarding of cloud-native network applications onto modern cloud platforms (with preference for Red Hat OpenShift) and will also support Day 2 operations, including monitoring and troubleshooting automation.

This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure and telco application automation, requiring deep expertise in platform-level orchestration, service onboarding, and observability tooling to ensure high availability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Day 1 Platform & Application Onboarding:

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to enable automated onboarding of 5G cloud-native applications on Red Hat OpenShift or other Kubernetes platforms.
  • Build and integrate platform-level components (e.g., storage classes, network policies, security contexts, namespaces) required to onboard applications.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects and 5G application vendors (e.g., Nokia, Mavenir, Ericsson) to ensure compatibility and optimal deployment design.
  • Implement and manage automation workflows for application configuration, deployment, and post-deployment validation.

Day 2 Observability & Operational Automation:

  • Automate application and platform health monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd/Fluentbit, and ELK.
  • Develop alerting rules and dashboards for platform and application KPIs.
  • Build scripts and workflows to detect, isolate, and auto-remediate platform-related issues affecting application performance.
  • Support ongoing reliability engineering by identifying root causes and helping resolve recurrent Day 2 issues in coordination with DevOps, NOC, and SRE teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure automation or DevOps roles.
  • Strong experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, or similar cloud-native platforms.
  • Proficiency in automation tools such as Ansible, Helm, Terraform, and scripting languages (Bash, Python, Go).
  • Familiarity with 5G core and RAN application architectures, onboarding practices, and operational lifecycle.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and GitOps workflows (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD).
  • Solid understanding of Day 2 needs: monitoring, logging, alerting, service assurance, and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience onboarding or operating 5G applications from vendors such as Nokia, Mavenir, or Ericsson on cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with container security (e.g., OPA/Gatekeeper, Aqua) and service mesh (e.g., Istio).
  • Experience with Red Hat-specific tools (e.g., ACM, Quay, OpenShift Pipelines).
  • Understanding of network configuration, CNI plugins, and telco-grade QoS considerations on cloud platforms.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently.
  • Effective communicator capable of translating platform needs into automation tasks.
  • Team player with experience working in cross-functional DevOps or telco cloud delivery teams.
  • Able to operate in a fast-paced, evolving technology environment.
