Job Details

JOB SUMMARY The User Interface Designer participates in the creation, prototyping, development, and validation of human interface structures and behaviors for digital systems and products. This role functions as part of a cross-functional design team, employing user-centered design methodologies to develop new and derivative user interface designs for web-based applications. The designer collaborates with product planning, end-users, and development teams to elicit requirements, conduct benchmarking, and deliver best-in-class user experiences. Key Responsibilities Participate in the creation, prototyping, development, and validation of digital interfaces Employ user-centered design methodologies to develop UI designs for web applications Collaborate with product planning, end-users, and development teams to gather requirements Conduct competitive benchmarking and recommend best-of-breed designs Perform task and workflow analyses of user practices Conduct heuristic evaluations of systems and designs Create flow diagrams, information architectures, screen layouts, and prototypes Develop and maintain user interface design specifications Plan and conduct usability tests on user interfaces Required Skills & Competencies Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities Proven visual design and development skills with industry-standard platforms/OS Knowledge and application of responsive and accessible UI design techniques Ability to create design concepts and prototypes using Figma, Axure RP, Photoshop, and HTML/CSS Ability to function as lead designer, autonomously representing UX design in project meetings Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Experience 38 years of user interface design experience Coursework or experience in UI design, visual design, testing, and evaluation expected Education Minimum: BA/BS in Human Factors, User Experience/User Interface Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design, or related field Preferred: MS/MA/MFA in Human Factors, User Experience/User Interface Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design, or related field Education verification required Years of Experience 38 years of professional experience in UI/UX design Education: Bachelors Degree
