- The client Security & Technology Operations organization is seeking a Security Operations Analyst to join our Data Protection Team.
Your Opportunity
- As a Security Operations Analyst on the Data Protection Team, you will be responsible for delivering various data security operational processes related to Database Activity Monitoring. You'll be an integral part of a team that monitors, analyzes, and responds to information security risks, including policy violations and threats to the client databases.
- This role also involves supporting the efforts of the broader Security Operations Team, Risk Management, and various Engineering teams to mature our security programs. We're looking for a technical, passionate, and self-driven individual who loves to learn, solve problems, and contribute to the advancement of the team.
What you'll do
- Participate in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to information security risks such as policy violations and threats to the client databases.
- Support the efforts of the Security Operations Team, Risk Management, and various Engineering teams to mature our data protection program.
- Contribute to the delivery of operational processes related to Database Activity Monitoring.
- Communicate security concepts effectively to business teams.
- Maintain detailed living documents and excellent organizational skills.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with peers and cross-functional teams.
- Identify opportunities to design and implement solutions to automate manual processes.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain detailed living documents.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with peers and cross-functional teams.
- Experience communicating security concepts to business teams.
- A passion for designing solutions to automate manual processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CIA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 1+ years of security experience or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Data Protection concepts (e.g., Data Loss Prevention, Encryption, Data at Rest versus Data in Motion, Unstructured versus Structured data).
- Understanding of information security best practices and technologies.
- Experience with Python, SQL, and/or PowerShell is strongly preferred.
- An analytical background and approach, especially with respect to event classification, event correlation, and root cause analysis.
