Luna Data Solutions is looking for an Oracle Database Administrator to create, tune, and maintain Oracle databases for PeopleSoft PeopleTools applications for a long term contract opportunity based in Austin, TX.
Oracle/PeopleSoft Database Administrator
Contract duration until 8/31/2026, extension possible
Hybrid work schedule, Downtown Austin
- Create, tune, and maintain Oracle databases for PeopleSoft PeopleTools applications.
- Perform highly advanced analytical work in the support of applications, as well as provide technical expertise to the team.
- Provide feedback and contribute expertise to improve applications and development processes.
- Design, develop, implement, and administer Oracle databases for the PeopleSoft Enterprise application information systems.
- Ensure operating success and performance, as well as provide technical expertise and support to the PS/Oracle technology infrastructure and application databases.
- Manage and monitor databases and associated technologies; provide input into the evaluation and recommendation of strategies, technologies, and standards for all related infrastructures.
- Perform database tuning and database problem resolution as necessary.
- Work with a team to evaluate business needs, analyze processes, and ensure system documentation reflects current state.
- Provide system expertise and functional/technical support to other team members by identifying problems and propose innovative solutions.
- Work with technical and functional resources effectively by communicating complex concepts clearly, accurately, and effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Proactively monitor Oracle database patches, fixes, and other relative Oracle applicable research.
- Participate in project management, coordination, planning, and scheduling.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years of providing Oracle database administration to include Oracle 12c or higher including installation, upgrading, and patching
- 8+ years of designing, creating, and maintaining Oracle databases, creating and tuning complex SQL, stored procedures, views, triggers, monitoring and analyzing database performance
- 8+ years of data integration, data quality, multi-dimensional design and database processes and methodology
- 8+ years of mentoring team members on best practices and standards
- 5+ years of Designer SQL and shell script development
- 5+ years of proficiency with the Microsoft Office products, including Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint
- 5+ years of experience with PL/SQL
- 5+ years of experience developing highly complex application security requirements
- 5+ years of designing and supporting systems adhering to information protection and security standards
- 3+ years of installing and configuring PeopleSoft infrastructure components that includes but are not limited to: WebLogic, Tuxedo, Application Server, Process Scheduler, and PIA
Preferred Experience
- 5+ years of experience working with combinations HTML, CSS, C, JavaScript, Perl, jQuery, Exadata, and UNIX shell scripting
- 5+ years of experience with using Oracle Forms
- 5+ years of experience creating complex SQL queries, reports, and data extracts from Oracle DBMS
- 5+ years of PeopleSoft database administration, including: PeopleCode, Data Mover Scripts, and Application
- 5+ years of PeopleSoft implementations, installations, and/or upgrades
- 5+ years of working effectively across multiple groups and functional areas (including leveraging resources by working w/subject-matter-experts) where security processes are concerned
- 5+ years of establishing, documenting, and communicating standards, best practices, fixes, and providing direction/recommendations
- 4+ years of Oracle Real Application Cluster environments, Oracle Enterprise Manager and Oracle Cloud
- 4+ years of installing and configuring PeopleSoft infrastructure components
- 4+ years of working with PeopleSoft 9.2 and PeopleTools 8.55 or above
- 4+ years of Public sector experience (Federal, State, or Local government)
- 3+ years of Symantec Netbackup software experience
- 2+ years of experience serving as a database administrator position on at least one full lifecycle implementation of PeopleSoft
- OCP/OCM certification
