RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Phoenix, AZ that is seeking a highly skilled Data Encryption Architect with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) to lead the design, implementation, and governance of encryption strategies across our cloud infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Data Encryption Architect (Google Cloud Platform) will design and implement end-to-end encryption architectures for data at rest, in transit, and in use within Google Cloud Platform
* Develop and maintain key management strategies using Google Cloud Key Management Service (KMS), Cloud HSM, and external key management (EKM) solutions
* Collaborate with security, DevOps, and engineering teams to integrate encryption best practices into CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native applications
* Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments related to data encryption and cryptographic key management
* As a Data Encryption Architect (Google Cloud Platform), you will define and enforce encryption policies, standards, and procedures aligned with compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, FedRAMP)
* Evaluate and implement new cryptographic technologies and tools to enhance data protection
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship on encryption and cryptographic practices across the organization
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
* 7+ years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years focused on encryption and cryptographic systems
* Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform security services, especially Cloud KMS, Cloud HSM, VPC Service Controls, and IAM
* Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Deployment Manager) for managing encryption configurations
* Strong understanding of cryptographic algorithms (AES, RSA, ECC, SHA, etc.) and protocols (TLS, IPsec, etc.)
* Familiarity with hybrid and multi-cloud encryption strategies
* Excellent communication and documentation skills
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
