Title: Instructional Designer Coupa Implementation
Duration: through July 2027
Location: North Chicago, IL 3 days onsite
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to support the implementation of Coupa, with a focus on creating engaging, effective training materials and programs that drive user adoption across the organization. The ideal candidate will have prior experience developing corporate learning content specifically for Coupa particularly the Sourcing and Contracting modules and possess strong skills in instructional design for SaaS applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop comprehensive training curriculums and learning paths for Coupa users.
- Collaborate with project teams, SMEs, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate complex procurement workflows into clear, engaging learning materials.
- Create blended learning solutions, including eLearning modules, instructor-led training (ILT), job aids, and quick reference guides.
- Develop high-quality eLearning content using authoring tools such as Articulate Rise, Storyline, or Adobe Captivate.
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to ensure content effectiveness and engagement.
- Incorporate change management and user adoption strategies to promote a smooth Coupa rollout.
- Conduct learner needs assessments and evaluate training effectiveness using metrics and feedback.
- Manage multiple projects with minimal supervision, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience designing and delivering training programs for Coupa, preferably including Sourcing and Contracting modules.
- Strong understanding of SaaS applications and corporate learning environments.
- Demonstrated ability to simplify complex processes into intuitive, learner-friendly materials.
- Hands-on experience with eLearning development tools (Articulate Rise, Captivate, Storyline, or similar).
- Solid grounding in adult learning theory and instructional design best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally.
- Familiarity with change management and strategies to drive user adoption.
- Analytical mindset to assess learner needs and measure training impact.
- Self-directed and highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other procurement or ERP systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle Procurement Cloud).
- Background in large-scale system implementations and enterprise change initiatives.
