This engineer will work cross-functionally with IT and engineering teams to onboard and enable infrastructure that supports various data workloads. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across Google Cloud Platform services, Terraform, CI/CD, and modern data tooling such as Databricks, Snowflake, and BigQuery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Google Cloud Platform infrastructure to support data platform workloads.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and infrastructure teams to onboard new projects and ensure proper governance, security, and compliance controls are in place.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Terraform and Jenkins.
  • Manage and optimize BigQuery environments to ensure efficient performance and cost control.
  • Support both relational and non-relational database technologies for data integration and storage.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to support a sensitive military data initiative, which involves modernizing legacy telephony data systems within Google Cloud Platform.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational security standards and compliance with healthcare and federal data regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Cloud or Platform Engineer, with at least 3+ years in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Strong proficiency in BigQuery.
  • Experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake in cloud data environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and Jenkins for automation and CI/CD.
  • Strong understanding of relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB, Bigtable) database systems.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Working knowledge of IAM, networking, and security principles in Google Cloud Platform.
  • Must be eligible to complete an e-QIP / SF-86 background investigation (required due to work with sensitive data).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale or regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, government).
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud-based telephony or contact center modernization initiatives.
  • Google Cloud Platform Professional Cloud Architect or Cloud Engineer certification.
