Piper Companies is seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to join a growing decision intelligence organization located in Columbia, MD, in a remote role. The Lead Engineer will play a key role in enhancing proactive defense strategies, streamlining incident response, and continuously improving the organization's security posture.

Responsibilities of the Lead Cybersecurity Engineer include:
- Design and implement robust cybersecurity and access management solutions to safeguard systems and data.
- Lead the operationalization and optimization of cybersecurity initiatives and projects.
- Collaborate with IT and business units to manage access control processes and ensure alignment with application requirements.
- Partner with the GRC team to develop and implement security standards, procedures, and controls, including documenting control exemptions.
- Support external audits and regulatory assessments, including penetration testing.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the cybersecurity program.
Qualifications for the Lead Cybersecurity Engineer include:
- Must be clearable to SECRET clearance level.
- 10+ years of experience implementing and supporting cybersecurity programs.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, network infrastructure, data architecture, and protocols.
- Experience working within NIST 800-171, CMMC, or similar cybersecurity frameworks.
- 2+ years of experience in Threat Detection, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, or Abuse Mitigation.
- 2+ years of experience implementing and supporting Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
- Preferred experience with Okta Workforce Identity, SailPoint or similar IGA tools, and Purview or comparable data protection solutions.
Compensation for the Lead Cybersecurity Engineer includes:
- Compensation: 160,000 - $175,000
- Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave as required by law, and Holidays
