Boeing Global Services (BGS) and the Structures Stress Team, located in sunny Long Beach, California, is seeking a Senior-level Structural Analysis Engineer with adept knowledge of stress analysis methods, engineering principles, certification, collaboration skills. This requisition is hiring for primary and secondary structures stress for airplane production & airplane post-production modifications.

Position Responsibilities:

• Plans and organize structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements.
• Performs detailed reviews and guidance of structural analysis to ensure structural integrity (margins of safety) considering classical techniques and Boeing tools. This analysis can support production, responses to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation, regulatory agency coordination and show compliance to regulatory requirements.
• Understands fundamental principles & properties of metallic and composite aircraft structures.
• Clearly understands and mentors applicable compliance showing to FAA regulations.
• Provides guidance on structural design and configuration development.
• Creates trade studies to optimize the structure and meet program requirements.
• Leads the team to integrate component-level structural models and can perform integrated analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses to verify structural integrity with minimal instruction.
• Documents structural analyses and data required to show compliance with Boeing, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Participates and leads in the resolution of technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer (internal and external).
• Supports customer interfacing design reviews
• Ability to support regular and emergent domestic or international travel to support our customers.
• Ability to work on-site 5 days per week.
• Works under consultative direction.
• Maybe asked to support other programs as needed.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or chemistry or other technical degree.
• 10 + years of experience with Stress Analysis/Structural Analysis.
• 10+ years of experience with classical hand analysis and FEA software experience.
• Experience with Boeing processes and procedures.
• Experience with Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Analysis.
• Willing & able to travel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 8+ years leading and mentoring structural analyst team members while engaging with cross-functional stakeholders.
• 5+ years engaged in 787 primary structural analysis, specifically with composites structures.

Summary pay range: $146,200 - $197,800
