Description

We are seeking a Network Administrator to join our team in Amherst, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, configuration, and management of our network infrastructure. You will be tasked with ensuring the security of our network, providing tier-3 support for network-related issues, and planning for future network expansion.

Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and manage the network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points
Implement and maintain network policies, access controls, and firewall rules to ensure network security
Provide tier-3 support for network-related issues, working collaboratively with other IT staff to troubleshoot and diagnose network problems
Participate in after-hours support as needed, responding to network emergencies and unplanned outages
Assist in the development and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans
Assess network capacity and plan for future growth and expansion
Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to recommend network upgrades and improvements
Review and revise network topology to ensure optimization
Recommend design changes to the Systems and Networking team and execute these changes using the ITIL 4 process
Maintain detailed network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures
Serve as a networking technical project lead/project manager, coordinating projects involving multiple people
Monitor network performance and security, proactively addressing issues, remediating vulnerabilities, and optimizing network resources
Automate network device configuration, operations, health and performance, and security monitoring
Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on network-related issues.

Requirements

Must possess a comprehensive understanding of Network Architecture
Proficiency in using Juniper network equipment is desired
Must have experience with Palo Alto Firewall
Knowledge in working with Router Switches is essential
Experience with Aruba Wireless is a plus
Must be capable of troubleshooting and resolving network issues
Able to design, implement, and oversee networks to ensure optimal performance
Must be able to maintain inventory of network hardware and software
Proficiency in creating network reports and documentation
Must be capable of ensuring network security and connectivity
Experience in network installation and configuration is necessary
Must be able to monitor network performance and integrity
Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills are essential to collaborate with other network professionals to optimize network performance.
