Responsibilities
Analyze drawings, specifications, to determine optimal tooling and machine processes
Understand machine set-up.
Monitors variations in set-ups and cycle times to meet routing.
Create programs to produce quality parts maximizing and maintaining efficiency at 90% uptime
Work with managers to implement the company s policies and business objectives
Knowledge of various multi axis mill machines and controls as well as horizontal milling.
Program/edit existing programs to better current efficiency.
Calculate optimum spindle speed and feed rates for specific machine functions and various types of materials
Selects proper cutting tools for maximum efficiency and safety
Performs manufacturability reviews for new jobs and provides feedback to manufacturing supervision and engineering in order to meet cost targets.
Develop and/or aid in preparing standard times and generating operational routings
Qualifications for CNC programmer
Self-starter
Familiarity with quality process control systems
Minimum of 8 years experience creating CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5 axis machines using Mastercam X or newer.
Ability to read prints specs, engineering and manufacturing drawings.
Ability to use gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
Work with production manager and machinist.
