This Finance Director position is a newly created role focused on the emerging area of ESG reporting. While Johnson & Johnson has a robust history of voluntary ESG reporting and has many initiatives underway to advance strategic priorities in these areas, there is a growing demand from regulators and our stakeholders to provide broader enterprise reporting that will be subject to regulatory requirements. This position will play a critical role in leading and shaping the mandatory ESG reporting for Johnson & Johnson to ensure the company is compliant with regulatory requirements. The responsibilities span the entire Finance organization and include working closely with the Legal and Enterprise Sustainability teams, as well as cross functionally with teams such as Procurement, Human Resources, Environmental Health and Safety and others across Johnson & Johnson. This position will report to the Vice President - Global Technical Accounting Advisory Services & Policy (GTAAS) and is based in the World Headquarters office (New Brunswick, NJ). This role will also assist in other projects led by GTAAS, which vary based on our business transactions and priorities (e.g., accounting policies, acquisitions and divestitures, implementation of new accounting standards, training initiatives).Responsibilities

Serve as the subject matter expert for ESG regulation, monitoring the external environment for new regulations and engaging as necessary to understand implications and compliance actions for Johnson & Johnson

Lead the implementation of new ESG reporting standards that impact Johnson & Johnson at the enterprise level (for example, SEC rules, EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) in collaboration with the Legal and Enterprise Sustainability teams

Facilitate the design and implementation of controls that support ESG disclosures, working closely with the respective functional team that owns the data

Lead the mandatory ESG external reporting, including the report to comply with the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and drafting financial ESG related disclosures required for SEC filings

Coordinate the internal and external assurance process for mandatory ESG disclosures

Review and support the voluntary ESG reporting, such as the annual Health for Humanity report

Represent Johnson & Johnson in various external forums covering ESG reporting and initiatives

Lead other special projects that involve GTAAS, such as acquisitions and divestitures, updating accounting policies, implementing new accounting standards

Supervise, guide and develop staff (position will have at least 1 direct report)
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting

CPA required

10+ years of accounting, external financial reporting, financial controls or auditing experience

Ability to react to changes quickly and work effectively in high-pressure situations

Ability to exercise a high level of independent judgment, influence and execution working in complex environments and driving change

Ability to provide useful guidance to help shape and influence the evolving ESG strategy and reporting across the enterprise

Experience in leading diverse teams and serving as the liaison with key leaders within the organization

Excellent written and verbal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships

The base pay range for this position is $160,000 - $276,000.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
