Implementation Engineer Lead - Process Focused (Manhattan Active WMS/OMS)
Location - Remote, with 60-75% travel across U.S./North American warehouse operations
Role Overview
The Implementation Engineer Lead - Process Focused is a senior leadership role responsible for designing, standardizing, and deploying warehouse and order management processes aligned with Lean warehousing principles and Manhattan Active WMS/OMS capabilities.
This role leads a team of Process-Focused Implementation Engineers and serves as the primary authority for operational process design, ensuring that inbound, outbound, and inventory workflows are efficient, scalable, and accurately reflected in system configuration. The role bridges operations, engineering, and IT to deliver successful multi-site deployments and measurable performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Process Leadership & Design
- Lead the design, standardization, and continuous improvement of warehouse and OMS operational workflows.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and industrial engineering principles to eliminate waste, reduce variability, and improve productivity.
- Develop engineered labor standards, process maps, and standardized operating models for recurring warehouse activities.
- Ensure process designs support scalability, flexibility, automation readiness, and multi-client 3PL environments.
Implementation & Deployment Support
- Oversee process-focused engineering activities throughout WMS/OMS deployments and site rollouts.
- Ensure operational requirements are accurately translated into system configuration and functionality.
- Partner with IT, configuration teams, and super users to validate workflows during QA and UAT testing.
- Align process designs with training materials, SOPs, and system work instructions.
- Capture lessons learned and established best practices for future deployments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Deployment Program Directors, Operations Engineering, and Training teams to ensure readiness for go-live.
- Collaborate with customer IT teams and site leadership to align business processes with system capabilities.
- Lead on-site and virtual workshops to validate workflows and identify performance improvement opportunities.
