Position Overview:
We are seeking a Sr. DB2 LUW Database Administrator to join our team and play a critical role in maintaining, optimizing, and supporting our database environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure high performance, stability, and scalability of our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance database performance using techniques such as indexing, query optimization, and thoughtful database design
- Collaborate closely with application development teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal application performance
- Participate in high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) testing for critical systems
- Ensure proper database backups are maintained and recovery procedures are documented and regularly tested
- Perform database upgrades, patches, and provide ongoing support for database systems and applications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field
- 8+ years of hands-on experience working with DB2 LUW
- Strong experience with HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery) configurations
- Proficient in replication technologies such as CDC and Attunity, with a foundational understanding of data modeling
- Proven ability to work independently and take initiative on complex assignments
- Leadership qualities with experience guiding and mentoring database administration teams
