Job Details

Role Summary
You will own the payments product, but this role requires deep implementation awareness. You must understand how money actually moves, where it breaks, and where costs hide.
You will define features, but also pressure-test feasibility, cost, and operational risk.
What You Must Have Done
Candidates must have:
  • Shipped payment products involving real money movement
  • Worked with acquirers AND issuers
  • Owned decisions affecting:
    • Interchange cost
    • MCC usage
    • Authorization success rates
  • Defined ledger and reconciliation requirements that were actually built
Key Responsibilities
  • Define product capabilities for:
    • Customer card acceptance
    • Virtual card issuance
    • Supplier payment execution
  • Own interchange and cost optimization strategy
  • Specify:
    • MCC control logic
    • Card limits, lifecycle, and usage rules
  • Define ledger models:
    • Customer charge
    • Issuer funding
    • Supplier settlement
    • Fee breakdowns
  • Work closely with Engineering to:
    • Prevent reconciliation issues
    • Handle partial failures
    • Design idempotent flows
  • Act as the internal payments SME
Required Experience
  • 6 10+ years in payments / fintech product roles
  • Direct exposure to:
    • Card networks (Visa/Mastercard behavior)
    • Issuer/acquirer integrations
    • Virtual card programs
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Interchange mechanics
    • Scheme rules
    • Settlement timing and cutoffs
  • Experience working with Finance and Ops teams
Strongly Preferred
  • Travel, OTA, marketplace, or supplier payments experience
  • Experience launching payment products under margin pressure
  • Experience fixing reconciliation or settlement issues post-launch
