Title: Site Director
Direct Hire - Full Time
Location: Houston, TX
Job Summary:
The Site Director will oversee all operations at the client's manufacturing site. This role is responsible for leading and managing daily site activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production of chemical products while fostering a positive and high-performing workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Management
Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations to meet production targets and quality standards. Optimize production scheduling, resource allocation, and operational workflows for efficiency.
2. Employee Relations
Lead, mentor, and develop site staff to build a cohesive and engaged team. Oversee recruitment, performance management, and employee development initiatives.
3. Safety and Compliance
Ensure full compliance with OSHA, environmental, and other regulatory requirements. Promote a culture of safety and enforce adherence to safety protocols.
4. Quality Control and Assurance
Oversee quality systems to ensure products meet or exceed specifications. Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain and improve site quality standards.
5. Cost Management
Manage site budgets, control operational costs, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety or quality.
6. Maintenance of Plant Equipment and Facilities
Oversee preventative maintenance programs and ensure equipment reliability and uptime. Manage facility improvement projects and capital expenditures as needed.
7. Supply Chain Management
Oversee site-level supply chain activities including purchasing, inventory management, raw material planning, and coordination with corporate Supply Chain. Ensure optimal inventory levels to meet production requirements while managing working capital efficiently.
8. Reporting and Analysis
Provide timely and accurate operational reports, production metrics, and performance analyses to leadership.
9. Communication and Coordination
Serve as the primary liaison between site operations and VION leadership. Coordinate with corporate functions including Supply Chain, Quality, EHS, and Finance to support site objectives.
Required Experience:
A Bachelor s degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, or chemical), business administration, finance, scientific discipline, or a related field is required.
A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 2 or more years of leadership experience is required.
Knowledge of and experience with LEAN manufacturing principles and methodologies is preferred
Technical knowledge in chemical handling, blending, and processing operations preferred
Familiarity with ERP systems, production management software, and warehouse management systems. Experience with SAP S/4HANA preferred
Basic Qualifications:
A bachelor s degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, or chemical), business administration, finance, scientific discipline, or a related field is required.
Strong business and financial acumen.
Proficient in MS Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong communication skills and ability to effectively adapt to situations in both verbal and written forms and including ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners, decisions makers, and C-suite.
Problem-solving and analytical skills include an ability to identify issues, analyze root cause(s), and implement effective solutions.
Proficiency in English.
Legally eligible to work in the United States and holder of valid driver s license.
