Position Overview
Rackspace is seeking a highly skilled IBM ELM (Engineering Lifecycle Management) Application Administrator to provide technical, functional, and administrative support for the IBM ELM suite including EWM (Engineering Workflow Management), ETM (Engineering Test Management), DNG (DOORS Next Generation), and JRS (Jazz Reporting Service).

This position requires a professional with a solid background in managing and maintaining enterprise-scale ELM environments, with an emphasis on Requirements Management (DNG). The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, performance optimization, and seamless collaboration across globally distributed teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • System Administration:
    Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain IBM ELM suite components (EWM, ETM, DNG, JRS) across environments.
    Manage user provisioning, access control, and permissions based on organizational requirements.
  • Application Support & Troubleshooting:
    Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and perform root cause analysis to resolve technical challenges.
    Troubleshoot and debug application-level problems in collaboration with IBM support and internal teams.
  • Requirements Management (DNG):
    Provide dedicated support and configuration management for DNG (DOORS Next Generation) modules to enhance requirements management processes.
    Customize templates, artifacts, and workflows to align with business needs.
  • Integration & Configuration Management:
    Manage integrations across ELM tools (EWM, ETM, DNG) and third-party systems.
    Ensure proper configuration of repositories, project areas, process templates, and data links.
  • Performance Optimization & Maintenance:
    Conduct regular system health checks, backups, and performance tuning.
    Manage upgrades, patches, and version updates with minimal downtime.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
    Collaborate closely with engineering, QA, and project management teams to provide ongoing ELM support.
    Engage proactively with business stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities and deliver user training.
    Facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures.
    Ensure adherence to governance, compliance, and change management standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 12+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years of hands-on administration and support experience in IBM ELM (EWM, ETM, DNG, JRS).
  • Proven ability to manage enterprise-scale IBM ELM implementations, including installation, upgrades, and configuration.
  • Strong expertise in ELM DNG (DOORS Next Generation) for Requirements Management is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and debugging complex application and integration issues.
  • Solid understanding of access management, project configurations, and artifact management in ELM.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multi-site teams within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong documentation and stakeholder management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating ELM tools with Jira, Jenkins, or other ALM platforms.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, scripting, or automation frameworks for administrative tasks.
  • Understanding of DevOps and Agile methodologies in engineering lifecycle management.
  • Prior experience supporting large enterprise or global environments.
