Power BI Specialist/Developer II

We are seeking a talented and experienced Power BI Specialist/Developer II to join our team in Houston. As a Power BI Specialist/Developer II, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports. You will also be responsible for ensuring data quality, implementing governance and security measures, and providing expertise in DAX languages and Power Query. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design Power BI dashboards and reports to meet the organization's requirements and objectives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data visualization needs and translate them into effective solutions.
  • Proactively identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring accurate and reliable reporting.
  • Implement and enforce Power BI governance and security policies to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance.
  • Demonstrate expertise in DAX languages, leveraging advanced calculations and measures to deliver meaningful insights.
  • Utilize Power Query to transform and clean data from various sources, ensuring its suitability for analysis.
  • Publish reports and dashboards using Power BI Service, optimizing performance and usability.
  • Administer capacity settings and audit logs to optimize Power BI performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Manage workspaces, tenant settings, data sources, and other administration tasks to maintain an efficient Power BI environment.
  • Educate report requestors, consumers, and stakeholders on Power BI capabilities and best practices, enabling them to make the most of the platform.
  • Install and administer on-premise Power BI Gateway to enable secure data transfer between on-premise and cloud-based systems.
  • Develop and publish apps to streamline report distribution and enhance user experience.
  • Experience with developing mobile apps for Power BI, ensuring data accessibility on the go.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Power BI dashboard and report visualization development.
  • Demonstrated ability to prevent and support the resolution of data quality issues.
  • Strong experience with Power BI governance and security implementation.
  • Expertise in DAX languages, utilizing advanced calculations and measures.
  • Proficiency in Power Query for data transformation and cleansing.
  • Experience in publishing reports and dashboards using Power BI Service.
  • Proven track record in Power BI administration, including capacity settings and audit logs.
  • Familiarity with managing workspaces, tenant settings, and data sources.
  • Nice to have: Ability to educate report requestors, consumers, and stakeholders on Power BI capabilities and best practices.
  • Nice to have: Experience in administering and installing on-premise Power BI Gateway.
  • Nice to have: Experience with creating and publishing apps.
  • Nice to have: Experience with developing mobile apps for Power BI.
