Agile Coach Senior + RTE
Location: Lisle HQ, Illinois (4 days onsite; no exceptions)
Contract role
Local candidates to IL only
Candidate with SPC certification will be the top most candidates.
Key conditions : We do not want candidates from out of state who are willing to relocate. I need someone local to Chicago area and come in 4 days a week. We cannot compromise on this requirement as I need this person to be my change agent.
Job Description
Position Overview
The Agile Coach, Senior will serve as a key member of the International IT Agile Center for Transformation team. They will collaborate closely with the CDIO Staff and the IT Operations team on designing and advancing agile practices at scale. An experienced agile practitioner, they will work with IT and business partners to design, train, and launch Agile Release Trains following the SAFe framework. As an experienced servant leader, they will coach teams on their agile maturity journey and drive adoption of lean and agile practices for continuous improvement. They are a change agent and lifelong learner passionate about digital transformation in a rapidly evolving transportation industry.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Coaches product and software development teams as a servant leader.
Uses agile methodology, practices, and frameworks to efficiently plan, manage, and deliver solutions.
Trains on Lean and agile practices for continuous improvement and problem solving. Drives and reinforces adoption of practices through coaching and mentoring.
Helps teams identify, design, and implement process improvements that enable incremental value delivery to the customer.
Drives shared accountability for outcomes within teams. Ensures the proper use of collaborative processes to manage tasks, issues, risks, and remove impediments.
Uses metrics to inspect and adapt team progress, performance, and agile maturity.
Fosters environment for healthy, high performing teams by improving transparency, feedback loops and team engagement.
Facilitates agile ceremonies and events, guides teams towards healthy management practices and decision-making processes.
Desired Skills
1. Agile Methodology Expertise:
- Deep understanding of Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, LeSS, XP, and other Agile frameworks.
- Experience scaling Agile across teams, departments, or the enterprise.
- Knowledge of Agile delivery metrics (velocity, cycle time, lead time, etc.).
2. Coaching & Facilitation:
- Strong coaching skills to guide individuals, teams, and leadership in adopting Agile mindsets and behaviors.
- Expertise in facilitating workshops, retrospectives, PI planning, and value stream mapping sessions.
- Ability to act as a servant leader and remove systemic impediments.
3. Change Management & Transformation:
- Experience leading Agile transformations and working with resistance to change.
- Skills in stakeholder engagement and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with Organizational Change Management (OCM) models and practices.
