Job Details

Job Title: Senior SAP S/4 HANA Data Migration Developer
Location: Mostly Remote, 1 week per month travel required to Harrisburg, PA
Tentative Duration: Up to 12 months
Remote. Candidate is required to be onsite for one week each month. Candidates must work EST time. Candidates from PA, NJ, NY, DE, and OH will be given preference.
Description of Duties
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze data requirements, develop migration strategies, and execute efficient data transfers.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define migration requirements, priorities, and timelines, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Collaborate with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) specialists to transform data from various sources into S4 Hana and SQL Server.
Develop, implement and maintain data integration strategies and solutions, including data profiling, cleansing, transformation, validation, and reconciliation to support our business operations and analytics.
Design, develop, and implement ETL processes using SAP Business Objects Data Services (BODS) from legacy systems to SAP S/4HANA and preferably BRIM.
Design, develop, and implement ETL processes using SAP HANA Migration Cockpit.
Execute data migration activities according to established plans, minimizing downtime and ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
Conduct thorough data validation and reconciliation post-migration, addressing any discrepancies or issues promptly.
Develop and maintain data models, data integration processes, and data transformation solutions.
Work closely with technical teams to ensure seamless integration between legacy systems and SAP environments.
Perform data quality checks and resolve data inconsistencies and errors.
Document data migration processes, procedures, and best practices.
Provide post-implementation support and troubleshooting.
Stay up to date with the latest data migration technologies.
Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
Fully document all created work associated with this position, including technical and functional designs and diagrams, test plans, test scripts, impact analysis reports, lessons learned, best practices for others to follow, plus any other documentation as required by the client. This documentation shall follow the format and / or templates as instructed by the client.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data integration implementations.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ETL processes and data transformations.
Stay updated with the latest ETL technologies, trends, and best practices.
Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with technology staff, business owners, project sponsors, vendors, and key clients.
Lead and participate in project team activities for system work efforts related to enterprise systems.
Work independently to accomplish the tasks and duties assigned.
Adhere to and follow all of the client s standards, policies, and procedures.
Utilize various software and/or technology tools to perform job duties.
Perform tasks and other duties as related to this position and role and assigned by the client.
Resource Requirements and Skill Set
Proven experience 5+ years in data development, with at least 2 years specifically in SAP BODS.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Strong understanding of ETL concepts, data modeling, and data transformation processes.
Proven proficiency in SAP BODS, S4 Hana, and SQL Server.
Experience with SAP data transformations and data integration solutions.
Experience with Migration Cockpit, IDocs, BAPI, EMIGALL, LSMW.
Experience developing Custom Migration Objects.
Experience with ABAP is a plus.
Proven experience migrating data for other SAP modules (e.g., Finance, Materials Management, Sales & Distribution, BRIM).
Hands-on experience with data migration tools, including BODS.
Proficiency in SQL and other data manipulation languages.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Certifications (Preferred)
SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP BusinessObjects Data Services.
Any additional certifications related to data management and ETL processes are a plus.
