Job Title: Senior Azure Data Engineer (Remote)
Location: 100% Remote

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-scale data solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of data engineering experience with a strong focus on Azure technologies, modern data platforms, and cloud-native architectures. This role is fully remote and requires strong communication, architecture, and hands-on implementation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Azure Databricks.
- Architect and implement data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts using modern cloud-native tools.
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to support advanced analytics, reporting, and business intelligence solutions.
- Integrate data from diverse structured and unstructured sources including SQL/NoSQL databases, APIs, and external data feeds.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for data workflows using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Ensure data quality, data governance, and metadata management across the data platform.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance of data systems and pipelines.
- Stay updated with emerging Azure data services and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Data Services, including:
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Azure Databricks
- Azure SQL / SQL Data Warehouse
- Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
- Strong SQL and Python skills for data processing and automation.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable data lake and data warehouse architectures.
- Expertise in data modeling (relational, dimensional, star/snowflake schemas).
- Experience with DevOps practices for data workflows: CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform).
- Familiarity with data governance, security (RBAC, managed identities), and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Azure certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203), Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305).
- Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, or other visualization tools.
- Familiarity with machine learning pipelines and integration with Azure ML.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
