Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with strong expertise in network security, routing/switching, cloud security, VoIP, telecom environments, and automation. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls, cloud platforms (AWS/Google Cloud Platform/IBM Cloud), and virtual routing technologies such as Vyatta. This is a senior-level role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise firewalls, including Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, and Fortinet.
• Build, optimize, and support LAN/WAN architectures, routing, and switching using protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, and STP.
• Manage VoIP systems and support telecom network environments including SIP, RTP, SBCs, and carrier-grade networking components.
• Deploy, configure, and support Vyatta routers and other virtual/SDN-based routing technologies.
• Support virtualization infrastructure using VMware and integrated network components.
• Implement and maintain security controls in AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and IBM Cloud, including cloud firewalls, logging, and identity services.
• Utilize IDPS, SIEM, and network monitoring tools (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel, etc.) to enhance detection and response capabilities.
• Develop scripts and automation workflows using Python, Bash, and network automation tools (Ansible, Netmiko, Terraform, or similar).
• Troubleshoot complex network and security issues across on-prem, cloud, and telecom environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on architecture, security improvements, and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, Network Security Engineer, or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, and Fortinet firewalls.
• Strong knowledge of routing/switching, network protocols, and LAN/WAN architecture.
• Experience with VoIP systems and telecom environments.
• Proven experience working with Vyatta routers or equivalent virtual routing platforms.
• Proficiency with VMware and network virtualization technologies.
• Experience securing and monitoring networks in AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and IBM Cloud.
• Familiarity with SIEM, IDPS, and advanced monitoring tools.
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Python and Bash.
• Certifications: CCNA / CCNP required.
• Preferred: CISSP, CompTIA Network+, or cloud security certifications.
