Job Details

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage FHIR implementation projects:
    • End-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of FHIR-based solutions for its clients.
    • Defining project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines in alignment with business objectives and market needs.
    • Managing project budgets, resources, risks, and issues, and implementing mitigation measures to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
    • Leading cross-functional teams, including IT, product development, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
    • Ensuring compliance with project governance and quality standards.
  • FHIR expertise and application:
  • Demonstrating a strong understanding of HL7 FHIR standards and their application in healthcare data exchange and interoperability.
  • Potentially involving knowledge of FHIR-based interoperability platforms, such as Intelligence Hub.
  • Collaboration and communication:
    • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including business leaders, clients, and vendors.
    • Facilitating effective communication flow among team members and stakeholders.
    • Providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders regarding project progress and outcomes.
  • Strategic alignment:
    • Ensuring FHIR projects align with overall strategies and initiatives, particularly those related to interoperability and value-based care.
  • Continuous improvement:
    • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and innovation in FHIR implementations.

Minimum qualifications

  • Education:Typically requires a bachelor s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or Project Management. Advanced degrees or professional certifications may be preferred.
  • Experience:A minimum of 5-7+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on technology projects, particularly in healthcare settings.
  • Technical expertise:
    • Solid understanding of healthcare data structures, standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR), and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).
    • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
    • Experience with various project management tools and techniques.
  • Critical skills:
    • Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proven ability to work effectively within a matrixed organization.

Preferred skills and experience

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or other project management certifications.
  • Experience with specific FHIR-related technologies, platforms, or integrations.
  • Familiarity with healthcare or pharmaceutical industry standards beyond FHIR.
  • Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
