About the Role
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work on AI assistant systems in the Batch Data team that have a direct impact on Uber's engineering productivity and development efficiency. We are looking for a Software Engineer II to focus on designing and developing reliable and scalable multi-agent AI systems that can handle complicated user questions and requests. The role also involves the end-to-end solution involving data engineering, pipeline design, prompt engineering that will have company level impact.
What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points
\\-\\-\\-\\- What the Candidate Will Do ----
1. Design, architect, and implement AI assistant systems for applications such as oncall assistants, analytical agents, etc.
2. Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including PMs, designers, backend engineers, and AI engineers to deliver seamless and scalable experiences.
3. Contribute to long-term vision and technical strategy for the Batch Data platform.
\\-\\-\\-\\- Basic Qualifications ----
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
2. 2 years of experience in software engineering with proficiency in languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
3. 2 years experience in web/online service system development or data infrastructure.
4. 1 years of experience with AI/ML/Data science related technologies
\\-\\-\\-\\- Preferred Qualifications ----
1. MS or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
2. Experience managing production systems with strong availability SLAs.
3. Familiarity with statistical analysis and machine learning.
4. Experience developing or integrating AI/ML models into data and analytics workflows.
5. Familiarity with conversational AI, AI-driven BI, or intelligent assistants for analytics use cases.
6. Experience designing and implementing frontend/UI components, especially for data-centric applications.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year.
For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year.
