Location: East Coast - US (40% travel to client sites in MA and OH)

Experience: Minimum 10 years

Job Type: Contract (Duration not specified)

Work Hours: Must be available during EST or CST hours

Travel: Up to 40% (expenses reimbursed)

Ideal Candidate Should Have

10-15+ years of experience as a SAP TM Functional Architect

Deep expertise in SAP TM-Transportation Planning, Subcontracting & Tendering, and Freight Cost Management & Settlement

Proven experience with S/4HANA, SAP Best Practices, and integration with SD, MM, EWM, GTS, Dangerous Goods, and ShipERP

Hands-on knowledge of Freight Units, Freight Orders, Carrier Integration, and Route Determination

Implementation experience in Life Sciences, Pharma, or Chemical industries

Strong functional design experience and ability to author detailed functional specifications

Experience facilitating workshops and conducting user training (TTT sessions)

Strong domain knowledge in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and good understanding of Finance & Accounting

Job Description

Thinking Minds Inc.'s client is seeking a highly experienced SAP TM Functional Architect to lead and optimize transportation management solutions within an S/4HANA environment. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in SAP TM-Transportation Planning, Subcontracting & Tendering, and Freight Cost Management & Settlement.

The Functional Architect will lead the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable SAP TM solutions, ensuring seamless integration with SD, MM, EWM, GTS, Dangerous Goods, ShipERP, and external 3PL systems. You'll drive configuration using SAP Best Practices, participate in requirement gathering workshops, and align solutions with business goals through the Business-Driven Configuration Assessment (BDCA) process.

Your responsibilities will include analyzing business requirements, developing functional specifications, optimizing freight cost settlement processes, and designing transportation planning workflows. You will play a pivotal role in improving Freight Order management, Carrier Selection, Route Determination, and overall Transportation Execution.

Additionally, you will conduct key-user training (TTT sessions), support business case development for TM enhancements, and monitor system performance to identify improvement areas.This role requires excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a strong ability to translate complex business needs into robust TM solutions. Prior experience in industries such as Life Sciences, Pharma, or Chemical manufacturing is required.
