Exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Test Equipment Engineer to join a small team in developing next generation test equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronic products and a career focused on software development and verification. The Test Equipment Engineer will be responsible for writing requirements for the creation of test systems and ensuring they meet the rigorous standards required for aerospace applications. This role involves writing test system requirements, developing and executing test plans, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
As a Test Equipment Engineer, you'll be instrumental in validating state-of-the-art Engine Monitoring Systems. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player with exceptional communication skills and a strong background in the full lifecycle of test equipment development and automation for electronic products, with programming proficiency using high-level languages like Python, C, and/or C++. This role involves leading and architecting test equipment systems, used in the development, qualification, and production of electronic aerospace components and systems.

responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain automated test software to support verification of airborne data acquisition systems.
- Create software interfaces to control test equipment, simulate external systems, and collect measurement data.
- Write test scripts and/or applications to validate embedded software functionality, communication protocols, and sensor inputs.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, and embedded software teams to define test requirements and coverage.
- Design and implement reusable test frameworks and data analysis tools.
- Support lab integration and troubleshooting of hardware/software interfaces.
- Generate and maintain documentation including test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Ensure traceability between test cases and system/software requirements.
- Contribute to test automation and continuous integration strategies.
- Architect test system software to verify our products meet the objectives of DO178C, DO160G, and Acceptance Test for manufacturing.
- Perform testing and validation of electronic systems and components to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of electronic products.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on testability and reliability of electronic designs.
qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a Test Equipment Engineer, with a focus on electronic systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Computer Science (CS), or a related field
- Strong background in software development and software verification preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electronic product design and testing, preferably in the aerospace industry or other regulated environment.
- Proficiency in Python, C# and C++ for automated test systems and scripting.
- Proficiency in using test equipment and software tools for data acquisition and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in writing requirements for test systems.
- Strong understanding of software verification practices and test methodologies.
- Ability to read schematics and interpret hardware requirements to drive test coverage.
skills: Preferred Skills:
- Experience with DO-160 standards for hardware qualification.
- Experience with DO-178B/C standards for software development and testing in the aerospace industry.
- Experience with aerospace interfaces ARINC429, ARINC717, UART, CAN and ethernet
- Familiarity with configuration management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Git, JIRA).
