Position: Security Cloud Engineer

Location: Lawrenceville, GA (This position is 100% onsite from day 1. Candidate needs to work from client location in Lawrenceville, GA. No Remote options)

Duration: 12+ months contract

Interview Mode: Typically, the manager starts with either a brief phone interview or a virtual interview. Some may also follow up with a face-to-face interview in Lawrenceville, GA.

Security Message:

This job requires a public safety background check to include criminal histories and fingerprinting. Please note Police will contact the candidate directly during the process which can take up to 2 weeks to complete.

Position Description:

The Security Cloud Engineer will assist the Cybersecurity Team by supporting Gwinnett County Security staff in their efforts to protect county systems. This position will be responsible for developing and maturing Microsoft Defender products and various other Cloud based products.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in various Microsoft Cloud Products
  • Professional experience in cloud security or engineering in public cloud providers AWS or Azure
  • Understanding of network architecture.
  • Excellent time management, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, information security, computer science, engineering, or similar technical field of study with 4+ years of information security experience; OR 8+ years of information security experience without a degree.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience deploying policies for servers and network via Intune.
  • Has a general understanding of security and is able to point out room for improvement in various network design and security tools.
  • Deployed and managed Microsoft Cloud products like Microsoft DLP, Defender for Cloud, Intune and Defender for Servers.
  • Experience with tools like vulnerability management and email gateway protection.
  • Knowledge of new and emerging enterprise level IT and cyber security technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement, manage, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various security systems, including but not limited to Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Defender Endpoint Protection, Azure security solutions, and data security/auditing platforms.
  • Serves as a SME for the County's goal of increasing security and adoption of cloud-based services.
  • Analyze and audit systems, software, processes, implementations, and environments for compliance with policies, regulations, and security best practices.
  • Architect best security designs for Azure Cloud Solutions, Data and Storage.
  • As needed, automate processes within the security team.
  • Work with other system architects and application teams as needed to design secure solutions.
  • Recommend and implement refinements and enhancements, in collaboration with individuals and teams, based on audit results.

Availability Requirements:

Monday Friday (8AM-5PM); No overtime.

After Hours; Weekends and Holidays Emergency Only

Term: Ongoing

On-Site: This position will be required to report on-site.
