Front End Web Developer- FT opportunity

Our client is looking to add a skilled Front End Web Developer to their team to help build software solutions to support their continued growth. You will develop and maintain software in a mixed Windows/Ubuntu environment, following the software development life cycle from design through testing, implementation, and support in a dynamic business environment. Work responsibilities are to develop and maintain customer web services applications, support company staff with technical application needs, testing of web services system, documentation of new features/changes, migrate/rewrite/re-engineer C# code into python/JavaScript web service system. Qualified candidates must be familiar with responsive web design and delivering to mobile platforms (HTML / SASS) with or without supporting frameworks (bootstrap / flexgrid).

Interested and qualified candidates will have a history of delivering structured and maintainable web applications and must be prepared to work onsite in East Windsor, CT where you get to observe the software you write in action and can quickly respond to users needs and requirements. Some off hours support required for implementations and maintenance as well rotating late coverage (1 day per week).

Essential Functions and Activities

• JavaScript: 4+ years (Required) including ES6 (preferred)
• Strong hold on JavaScript and an ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Hands on experience in a modern JavaScript framework such as Angular/ReactJS, Redux, NgRx, RxJS, BackboneJS and Marionette
• Hands on experience in HTML5, CSS3, JS libraries like Material, Bootstrap, JQuery.
• UI/UX design - Graphic Design experience a plus
• Git version control
• Comfortable with Unit Testing
• Experience of Peer code reviews

Additional Skills

• Angular, React, Vue or Backbone.JS 2+ years (Preferred)
• REST APIs, 1+ year (Preferred)
• Payload (ideal) experience or other CMS platform is an advantage
• Any Python experience is an advantage
• Any Mobile Development experience is an advantage
• Knowledge of Agile & CI/CD an advantage
• Familiar with writing SQL queries or MongoDB mgmt. a plus
• Experience with Linux/Ubuntu, IOS dev & NgRx/Redux patterns a plus

• Nginx experience a plus

Some other core duties include

• Meet with users to find out what they want from their web applications and online projects, especially regarding user interface and experience.
• Present web design plans and UI layout ideas to clients.
• Perform usability tests and analyze the results to gauge the consumer s experience when using web applications and online programs.
• Perform code reviews. Following coding patters/standards but also willing to provide input on new paths
• Analyze user data to evaluate user interfaces for existing applications and web pages and to identify areas needing improvement. Use visual aids such as wireframes, storyboards and UI flow charts, to plan and present user interface designs.
• Keep current with the latest trends and best practices of UI/UX design and HCI (human-computer interaction).
