As part of our WWAN Engineering organization, we are seeking a strong and experienced technical leader to drive the development of next-generation wireless WAN solutions. You will play a key role in shaping the future of cellular technology, reporting directly to the VP of HW Engineering. Our organization thrives on collaboration, and you'll work closely with other technical leaders and teams to ensure alignment and co-development of pioneering WWAN, WLAN, and LAN solutions. What you will do

  • Keep current with new and emerging technologies critical to keeping Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions at the forefront of the technological landscape.
  • Investigate and propose new architectures, platforms, and services to support future growth and maintain cellular technology leadership.
  • Research, socialize, and propose cross-functional hardware and firmware platform architectures that align with company strategy, driving differentiation and customer value.
  • Form and lead a team of hardware and firmware technical leaders to develop and deliver solutions that advance the all-wireless enterprise.
  • Advise senior engineering management on emerging technologies, methods, and tools relevant to Ericsson's target markets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering leaders in SaaS, SDWAN, and Security to deliver competitive end-to-end solutions.

The skills you bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science; Master's Degree or PhD preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in a senior technical role in the networking industry, including developer or architect roles in:
    • Wireless technologies, particularly cellular, Wi-Fi, and GNSS
    • Enterprise-class networking and networking solutions
    • X86/ARM-based HW architectures
    • Linux-based architectures for networking platforms
    • AI and ML at the network edge
    • Hardware systems development
  • Experience in the development, launch, and support of computing and networking platforms, hardware/firmware architectures, and wired and wireless network infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership within the computing and networking industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and driving projects from concept to completion.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools to effectively manage and deliver complex engineering projects.

Your Pay
The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

The salary range for this position is:

Santa Clara: $229,200- $343,800

Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of three medical plan options and a dental plan option that allow an employee to select the level of coverage that suits their needs. Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents.

Your Financial Security

We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson matches $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson's full matching contributions. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson's Stock Purchase Plan.

Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
