Technical Writer - Focused on Geospatial Products OVERVIEW Are you an energetic, passionate technical writer who has the desire to inspire, support, and advocate for our customers? Use your passion for writing and interest in cutting-edge technology to provide customers with essential help documentation. In this position, you'll make our customers successful by creating meaningful web-based documentation that communicates methodology and best practices for GIS software products. Become part of our agile product and user assistance teams to enlighten our customers. RESPONSIBILITIES Write conceptual help topics and step-by-step workflows Engage subject matter experts for technical accuracy and business use cases Stay current with the software to maintain the help documentation Support a variety of publications including smart online and installed help Ensure help documentation requirements are met for each software release cycle Produce help that is consistent with the Esri style REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's in GIS (or a related field) or 2 years' professional experience with GIS technology Interest in writing software documentation for web-based guides, tutorials, and articles Ability to learn and use the software as a customer to produce the help documentation Excellent written and verbal communication skills Analytical, detail-oriented, and organized RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS An understanding of documentation workflows that use DITA (XML) or HTML Experience with producing web-based help using a content management system (CMS) Experience with ArcGIS software

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
