Mechanical Engineer V

Location: Seattle, WA

Contract Duration 6 months

Job Description:

* Pipe Stress Load Analysis & Optimization: Review and optimize structural load criteria for liquid cooling piping systems including its connections, analyzing component gravity loads and seismic/thermal combinations.

* BOD Documentation & Standards Development: Improve load documentation in Basis Of Design documents for liquid cooling systems, ensuring proper racking load criteria and structural requirements. Develop process runbooks for standardized workflows.

* Project-Level Technical Review: Review liquid cooling submittals across multiple projects to ensure standardization and proper structural integration.

* Cross-Team Coordination: Collaborate with racking team, MPS and racking vendors to align on load calculations, connection designs, and pipe support strategies.

* Process Improvement: Coordinate with construction teams to develop improved pipe and racking coordination workflows.

REQUIRED SKILLS

ABET accredited Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering. PE or SE Engineering license.

5+ years experience in pipe stress design, connection design, and pipe support

7+ years experience in structural design for industrial or commercial projects.

Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standard including IBC and ASCE.

Experience in design and calculation for auxiliary framing systems used to support cable tray, conduit, ductwork, etc.

Experience in design and review of non-structural components and non-building structures

Experience in Construction Administration

Strong communication and writing skills

PREFERRED SKILLS

ABET accredited Master's degree in civil or structural engineering.
