Job Details

Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced Mainframe IMS DB Developers to join a long-term project for a leading financial institution. This role requires strong hands-on skills in IMS DB, DB2, and Assembler programming, along with solid experience in large-scale enterprise environments. Ideal candidates will have a passion for solving complex problems and a proactive mindset toward modernizing legacy systems.
Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust mainframe solutions with a focus on IMS, DB2, and Assembler.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive innovative solutions beyond standard approaches.
  • Create secure, high-performance production code and maintain efficient algorithms.
  • Generate design artifacts and ensure software code meets all design constraints.
  • Identify hidden issues and patterns in large datasets to improve system architecture and code quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and contribute to the software engineering community of practice.
  • Stay updated on new and emerging technologies and apply best practices across development efforts.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Mainframe Assembler programming, IMS, and DB2.
  • Experience developing and debugging code in large enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and other legacy technologies.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies including CI/CD, security, and resiliency practices.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Kubernetes, and SonarQube.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Prior experience with performance tuning, batch and transactional processing.
  • Exposure to legacy system modernization or cloud integration projects.
  • Industry experience in banking, finance, or insurance environments.
  • IBM or Mainframe-related certifications are a plus.
