Job Details

Job Description We are helping a trading firm that was just acquired hire a full time Linux System Administrator for their second shift. This will be an onsite role 5 days a week Monday-Thursday and then Sunday in Chicago located near the Board of Trades. They help traders in financial markets make complicated trades involving multiple assets at the same time.

You will be responsible for monitoring the trading community during the Asian shift. You will be able to work with tons of monitoring tools built internally to do so. This role involves extensive monitoring of trading activities and providing support for Linux server buildouts, configurations, and backend processing. Required Skills & Experience
  • Manage Linux server buildouts, configurations, and backend processing of logs.
  • Monitoring trading activities and system health during shifts.
  • Experience with Ubuntu and Linux kernel tuning.
  • Proficiency in command line operations and Bash scripting.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and security best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS is a plus.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years in a Linux Environment
  • Experience in a trading environment
