About The Role:

The CrowdStrike TechOps team is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to build, monitor and maintain our complex multi-cloud (on-prem & public) distributed systems infrastructure with a focus on a quickly growing MinIO-based object store. The ideal candidate will have experience with a hybrid cloud 24x7 system in a critical production environment. You'll participate in the design, development and implementation of a custom S3 compatible object store solution that will span thousands of Linux servers. As a member of the team, you will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful integration of MinIO object storage within our overall system architecture.

What You'll Do:
  • Linux engineering and administration for thousands of bare metal and virtual machines
  • Familiarity with public cloud and cloud administration concepts
  • Engineer clustered object-storage in a large scale cloud environment
  • Monitoring, maintenance, and operation of a production environment
  • Troubleshoot server hardware issues
  • Automate common tasks, deploy with an IaaS model, utilize Chef or similar
  • On-call rotation with other team members, subject matter expertise in private cloud
  • Ability to write simple to moderately complex scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, alarms (common languages)


What You'll Need:
  • 3+ years of experience working in a large scale distributed system
  • Experience with on-prem storage (block and object) solutions
  • Hands-on experience with MinIO (Kubernetes-native, AWS S3 compatible object storage solution)
  • Automation experience using Python/Go scripting and Chef config management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Exposure to/experience with Cybersecurity and Intelligence
  • Must work effectively and professionally with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team
  • Must be able to work with a distributed team in multiple time zones
  • Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions
  • Demonstrate self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment
  • 2-3 business related trips per year for group meetings
