Position Title: PCB Layout Engineer
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity located in Northridge, CA
Job Responsibilities:
- Schematic Capture & Layout Design Translate electrical schematics into PCB layouts, ensuring compliance with high-speed, power, analog, and digital design requirements.
- Component Placement & Routing Place components and route signals with attention to signal integrity, thermal performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
- Library Management Build and maintain accurate component and footprint libraries per industry standards.
- Design Rule Checks & Optimization Run DRCs, manage constraints, and conduct peer reviews to ensure designs meet IPC standards and best practices
- DFM/DFT Analysis Apply Design For Manufacturability (DFM) and Design For Testability (DFT) principles to ensure boards are production-ready and testable.
- Tool Proficiency Use industry-standard PCB design tools such as Mentor Xpedition, PADS, or Altium (other tools like Cadence Allegro or KiCad are a plus).
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of experience with PCB Layout design
- Proven experience in PCB design and layout (high-speed, multi-layer boards).
- Hands-on experience with MentorGraphics (Xpedition/PADS) or Altium Designer (preferred).
- Strong collaboration skills with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and manufacturing teams.
- Strong grasp of signal integrity for high-speed designs (10G+ and beyond).
- Understanding of power integrity (AC vs. DC), thermal management, and EMI/EMC design principles.
- Familiarity with IPC standards and best practices for manufacturable/testable
