Description
A growing manufacturing company is looking for a skilled Technical Writer to join their team in Everett, Washington. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a key role in creating clear and engaging technical content tailored to various audiences. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between complex engineering concepts and user-friendly documentation.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to gather insights about products and their functionalities.
Develop comprehensive user manuals, step-by-step guides, and articles to support semi-technical and non-technical audiences.
Create and update website content using WordPress, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
Suggest improvements to existing templates to enhance clarity and usability.
Edit and manipulate images for effective visual representation, working closely with the graphic design team.
Translate highly technical information into accessible content for diverse customer audiences.
Research and analyze industrial control systems to ensure accurate and informed content.
Maintain a consistent tone and style across all documentation, adhering to AP standards.
Provide technical support by troubleshooting documentation issues and ensuring clarity.
Location: Everett, WA
Length: Contract-to-hire (this is a long-term role)
Pay: $30-35/hr

Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing.
Proficiency in editing and managing content on WordPress.
Familiarity with industrial control systems, engineering, or networking concepts.
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Proven ability to simplify complex technical information for varied audiences.
Expertise in tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, Figma, and AP Style standards.
Experience with content creation, development, and editing.
Knowledge of computer hardware and software systems.
