Project Operations Specialist (1416777)
Contract: 6+ months
Location: 6205 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd Atlanta Georgia 30328 MUST BE within 50 miles of ATL. Onsite Tues plus 1 other day of choice
This role is a very high-level VENDOR SPECIFIC focused Operations Specialist role. Almost like a project coordinator or Project manager, but focused specifically on vendor programs within IT for enterprise organizations. Do not send resumes without that type of experience highlighted on the resume.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of vendor management processes, including onboarding, performance tracking, and compliance documentation to support the full vendor lifecycle - maximizing value and minimizing risk.
- Assist in coordinating small to mid-sized projects related to new vendor initiatives, contract renewals, and technology implementations.
- Maintain and update dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools to monitor vendor performance and project status.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Legal, Finance, and IT to ensure alignment on vendor-related activities.
- Schedule and facilitate meetings, prepare agendas, take notes, and follow up on action items.
- Help streamline operational workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Ensure documentation is current, organized, and accessible in shared systems (e.g., O365, PowerBI, Zylo, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Oracle EBS).
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the Technology Vendor Management Team.
About the Role:
Cox Automotive is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Operations Specialist (Contractor) to support the Technology Vendor Management Team within the Office of the CIO. The team manages the full vendor lifecycle to maximize value and minimize risk. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys balancing operational excellence with light project coordination.
You will play a key role in our mission to Empower Smarter Technology Decision Together by working with our stakeholders and cross functional partners, implementing our vendor governance processes, tracking project milestones, managing documentation, collaborating with partners across the organization and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across the technology vendor ecosystem.

Qualifications:

- 5-10 years of experience in operations, project coordination, or vendor management (technology or IT environment preferred) or related experience.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft O365.
- Experience with Oracle EBS, ServiceNow, and Zylo PowerBI is a plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid team environment.
- Experience working with or supporting vendor management, procurement, or IT governance is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Familiarity with ITIL, Agile, or project management methodologies.
- Experience in a large enterprise or matrixed organization.
- Knowledge of contract lifecycle management or vendor risk assessment processes.
Reporting Structure:
This position will report to the Senior Manager, Technology Vendor Management in the Office of the CIO.
