RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a USB Engineer in Austin, TX.
Job Summary:
We're seeking an experienced USB Engineer with specialized knowledge of USB protocols to join our engineering team. In this role, you'll design, implement, and optimize low-level system components that interface with various USB devices and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
* USB Engineer will develop and maintain Android system-level components that interact with USB devices
* Implement USB protocol stacks and drivers for Android platforms
* Debug complex USB communication issues at the protocol level
* As a USB Engineer, you will optimize performance of USB data transfers in resource-constrained environments
* Contribute to documentation and testing of USB implementations
REQUIREMENTS:
* Moderate experience with Android system-level development
* Hands-on experience implementing HID (Human Interface Device), UVC and UAC protocols
* Experience with REST over HID communications
* Knowledge of USB protocols and specifications
* Solid understanding of low-level hardware interactions
* Proficiency in C++ programming
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Android AOSP (Android Open-Source Project)
* Experience with Bluetooth or other wireless protocols
* Knowledge of Linux kernel USB subsystems
* Background in embedded systems development
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
