Location: Hybrid – Alexandria (Old Town), VA (3 days onsite / week)
Type: Contract-to-Hire (6–8 months)
Rate: $60–$65/hour

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst / Test Automation Engineer to support a high-impact federal program in a hybrid onsite capacity. This role requires a strong balance of requirements analysis, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on test automation within an Agile environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable owning requirements end-to-end while also designing and executing automated test scripts to ensure system quality and delivery excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis (≈40%)

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements

  • Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications

  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams

  • Ensure requirements traceability throughout the SDLC

  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives)

Test Automation & QA (≈60%)

  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for functional and regression testing

  • Work with automation tools such as Selenium (primary); Cypress or Playwright acceptable

  • Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines

  • Identify, track, and document defects; collaborate with developers for timely resolution

  • Support testing best practices and continuous process improvements


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)

  • 7+ years of combined experience as a Business Analyst and Test Automation Engineer

  • Prior experience supporting federal/government programs

  • Strong hands-on experience with Selenium automation

  • Solid understanding of test automation frameworks, testing methodologies, and CI/CD

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

  • Proficiency with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar tools

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to work onsite in Alexandria, VA 3 days per week


Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with Cypress or Playwright in addition to Selenium

  • Exposure to DevOps collaboration and pipeline optimization

  • Prior experience in contract-to-hire roles
